Joanna Makutsa

Osteopathic Manual Practitioner

Treatment Approach: holistic and principle-based manual techniques

Focus: Musculoskeletal pain, postural concerns, sleep difficulties, and digestive issues

Joanna holds a Master of Osteopathic Manipulative Science (M.OMSc) from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, where she completed over 4,200 hours of training, including 1,000 hours of supervised clinical experience. She is a registered member in good standing with Osteopathy Canada (OSTCAN) and the provincial affiliate, the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA). Prior to attending the CAO, Joanna graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University.

Joanna tailors each treatment to address the root causes of her patients’ concerns, using a holistic and principle-based approach to restore motion, symmetry, and balance through gentle manual techniques that target all tissues of the body. This approach supports the neurovascular system, helping to promote the body’s natural self-healing and self-regulating abilities.

She provides care for individuals with specific concerns as well as those seeking a general “tune-up,” and has had success supporting patients with musculoskeletal pain, joint pain and stiffness, postural concerns, sleep difficulties, and digestive issues.

In her free time, Joanna enjoys strength training at the gym, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
