FAQ’s From Our Milton Chiropractic Team
“I’m a little scared of the adjustments… are they safe?”
Before your chiropractor does any adjustments, they go through a complete medical history and physical examination to make sure the adjustment is right for you. When the adjustments are delivered by a professional, it is very safe and painless, although there may be an audible sound, that’s just the gas leaving the joint! Typically, there is instant relief and mobility following care and you can go about your day.
Sometimes individuals see different techniques online and can be hesitant to come in, however it is important to remember that adjustments done here in our clinic are specific, and only done when needed. Also, the adjustments are just one tool in your providers toolbox and they can do much more in your treatment, so never be afraid to ask questions and let us know what you are comfortable with.
“How do I know if a Chiropractor is the right provider for my problem?”
Our Milton chiropractors treat many conditions, not just those involving the spine. So, if you are dealing with muscle, joint or nerve pain, this is the right person to see! As chiropractors, they are specialized movement providers of the spine and can easily point out any areas of tension or restrictions you might be feeling. If you are experiencing neck or back pain, headaches, joint stiffness, muscle tightness, nerve pain or any sport injuries, then this is the right fit for you! Since they are also trained in assessing different conditions, if your diagnosis would better be treated by someone else, like physiotherapy or massage, they are happy to refer you to another member of our team.
“What can I expect during my first appointment with the Chiropractor?”
Your first visit is all about getting to know more about you and understanding your body and goals! We will start with a thorough history, discuss your symptoms and complete a physical examination to determine the cause of your discomfort. If there’s time, your practitioner may also begin treatment that day! That can include spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy or manual muscle work. You might also get some advice on how to improve your posture or some exercises to work on at home. At the end of the session, they will let you know your best plan of management and how often you should return for treatment if needed.
